Join us and be a Voice for wildlife

building pathways of compassionate coexistence between people and wildlife

The Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center is dedicated to helping the community walk as if every step is a prayer on Mother Earth and live in harmony with wildlife.
Our Center is located in the Madrean Archipelago/Madrean Sky Island region of southeastern Arizona, an area of globally significant biodiversity, harboring the highest diversity of mammals, birds, bees, and ants in America.
In heartfelt gratitude we will walk our talk and be present with love and compassion for each other as people and for all Mother Earth's relations.

My husband, Tony Heath’s film, Jaguar Rising records the focused statements of advocates and the spirit and spontaneity of artists. It’s a combined effort to illustrate our love for nature and concern for all life here in the southwest United States border region, the most biologically diverse area of the lower forty-eight.

Heartfelt Thanks and Deep Gratitude to all those who attended our June 4, 2023 borderlands films fundraiser! We had a very full house and it made us all very happy to answer your questions, hear your insights, and ways you all would like to get involved in our work. With your continued support we are empowered to create and share films that amplify the ongoing impacts with the wall on our beautiful borderlands.
On September 9, 2023, we were thrilled to learn that A Wall Runs Through It won a student Emmy from the Rocky Mountain Southwest National Academy of Television Arts And Sciences (NATAS) in the college, non-fiction, short form category.

Help us restore and preserve Birdland Ranch,
a wildlife and biodiversity hotspot

The Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center is helping wildlife by restoring and preserving Birdland Ranch, a remote wildlife area and biodiversity hotspot, home locally to 150 bird species, endangered top predators, neotropical birds and more in a rich ecosystem.
“The nearby San Pedro River corridor supports two-thirds of the avian diversity of the entire United States, including more than 100 species of breeding birds and 300 migrant birds.” (R.J. Luce, pg 3, San Pedro Anthology, ) Wildlife infrastructure projects include maintaining and upgrading an extensive cavity nest-box trail to preserve threatened species, habitat restoration, as well as plans to restore a small historic outbuilding for community outreach events.

Jaguar Rising Campaign to Address Wildlife Connectivity and the Border Wall

The Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center has been working hard to publicize the ecocide occurring along our beautiful borderlands and the horrendous impacts of the border wall.
